We are pleased to announce the Yard 56 Mixed-Use development was recognized with the Urban Land Institute’s WaveMakers award which is judged based on each project’s overview, sense of place and quality, sustainability, visionary emulation qualities, and need. Congratulations to the entire project team!  Yard 56, MCB Real Estate’s newest Mixed-Use development was formally blighted industrial land, situated miles from Baltimore’s inner harbor. This brownfield has been transformed into a vibrant community which embodies Live, Play, Work. The second phase totals over 470,000 SF and combines an array of uses which include residential, commercial, and medical into a five- and seven-story building.

The Lofts at Yard 56 make up just under 245,000 SF and is comprised of 227 residential units, ground-floor retail, amenity spaces, and a charming courtyard. Eloquently designed by BCT Design Group, the Lofts at Yard 56 embody a harmonious blend of modern living and community spaces. The building’s unique design features showcase the structure’s concrete podium, wood framing, and precast garage. The nine-story parking garage offers five levels of public parking, and four levels specifically designated for residents. Surface parking can also be found along the perimeter of the community.

The Wellness Center at Yard 56, designed by Hord Coplan and Macht, is the second newest constructed building at Yard 56 and totals almost 85,0000 SF. This state-of-the-art medical office building features a pharmacy, private treatment facilities, offices, and amenity spaces and is home to the Baltimore Medical System headquarters. Located just a few hundred yards from Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, this much needed facility will serve the Baltimore community for years to come.

L.F. Jennings is pleased to announce completion of the Mutual on Main apartments, located in the heart of Richmond’s downtown. This 14-story Richmond landmark, known previously for being a commercial building for 120 years, was renovated into a 168-unit residential building. Originally built in 1905, the Mutual Assurance Society Building became well-known for its six complete Otis elevators, Westinghouse electrical generating plant, and being a massive structure for its time.

The 125-foot building now has state-of-the-art amenities including a golf simulator, indoor dog park, multiroom fitness studio, mini offices, bike storage and repair shop, and garage parking. This adaptive-reuse project also incorporates a 1,062 SF commercial space on the ground floor and a rooftop clubhouse with indoor and outdoor lounging with spectacular views of the James River.

The project team includes Landmark Property Services, Walter Parks, Balzer, O’Neal, Gradient and L.F. Jennings as the general contractor.

L.F. Jennings is pleased to announce construction has begun on Lindsay Lexus located in Alexandria, VA. The construction of the new Lindsay Lexus sales and service center is an exciting project that aims to establish a premier car dealership in the area. This state-of-the-art facility will cater to Lexus owners across Northern Virginia, offering exceptional customer service and top-notch automotive care.

The project will include an 87,000 SF Sales Showroom and a 92,000 SF Service Center with over 64 service bays. The design of the center reflects the luxury and elegance associated with the Lexus brand. It will be a modern and visually appealing structure that showcases the dealership’s commitment to quality and excellence. The architecture will blend functionality with aesthetic appeal, creating a space that is both inviting and efficient. This massive center will incorporate two floors of below grade parking and will feature rooftop parking above the service facility.

Once completed, the Lindsay Lexus sales and service center will create a destination for Lexus owners, offering a one-stop-shop for all sales and service needs. This facility is anticipated to be complete in August 2024. The project team includes Lindsay Automotive Group, Simpson Development, Penney Design Group, Bowman Consulting and LF Jennings as the General Contractor.

The L.F. Jennings Research Triangle Office is well underway with the construction of the Durham 85 Building 3 project in Durham North Carolina. Our construction team is doing an incredible job leading this design-build project toward completion. Scannell Properties is the developer of this facility and Hagersmith Design led the design. This 250,000 SF industrial warehouse is the first of many upcoming new distribution and warehouse facilities in the Durham 85 campus.

With 1,500,000 SF of new industrial space planned with direct access to Interstate 85, the Durham 85 campus has an unbeatable location and accessibility to all points in the Research Triangle and beyond via the new Interstate east-end connector. Jennings is excited to be a part of the World Class Community known as Potomac Shores and we are pleased to announce construction is underway for the Potomac Shores Garage located in the Harbor Stations Community of Dumfries, Virginia. This 145,000 SF parking structure was designed by Core Architecture + Design and features 4 levels and 370 total parking spaces. The project is partially below grade and encompasses a pedestrian promenade located on the roof level. Initial sitework involves installing 75’ long reinforced shafts for global stability of the site. The anticipated completion of the Potomac Shores Garage is August 2024

The project team includes Core Architecture + Design, Urban LTD and general contractor L.F. Jennings.

The L.F. Jennings Central Virginia Team is underway with the Heights Church Expansion project in Henrico, VA.

This 40,000 SF project converts an old shopping center into a brand-new Sanctuary with a Stadium Seating design to accommodate 1,500 Church Members. Unique features of this project include raising the roof 10 feet, removing existing columns by suspending the structure from new steel trusses, and a 40’ tall curtainwall atrium entrance.

The project team includes Heights Church, INTEC Group, Inc., GPI / Greenman-Pedersen, Inc., Structura Inc. and General Contractor L. F. Jennings, Inc.

The anticipated completion for the Heights Church project is March 2024.
