Quality Control

Our team recognizes that quality management tools, reports, meeting minutes, essential logs, and up to date cost reports are synonymous with the successful construction of a project.

Our benchmark indicator of a successful quality control assurance program is the level of client satisfaction we have achieve on each project. We have experienced an unparalleled level of continued repeat work through developing and maintaining long term relationships and providing a level of quality and service our clients have come to expect from L.F. Jennings.

The following are key components to our quality control plan

Communication

Establish detailed methods of communication and reporting for the specific project. With the help of Procore, a cloud based software, we are able to keep the client up to date in real-time with the status of a project
Specifically structured around “Weekly Progress Meetings” including all parties involved in the project, including, but not limited to, Owner, CM, GC, Architect, Engineers and Subcontractors
We provide written documentation in the form of meeting minutes, associated logs and schedules as a means to ensure accountability for all parties
These reports address overall project status, identify potential problems and enable proactive corrective actions to be taken

Schedule Control

The Project Manager sets internal schedule milestones and deadlines in conjunction with the owner’s schedule, this schedule is collaborative and will become the roadmap for the entire project team
The Project Manager assures that project staffing, tasks and milestone are anticipated in resource scheduling and that external issues affecting schedule are addressed early in the process
The schedule will become a target for which all work will be performed, and against which all success will be measured

Resources Commitment

We utilize scheduling software to ensure the appropriate resources have been allocated to the project at the appropriate timeline of the project lifecycle
The project manager and superintendents collaborate daily, and are directly responsible for monitoring resource levels and implementing changes when not only to ensure the project schedule, but also to allow flexibility and modifications to the plan as needed throughout the project

Budget Control

The preparation of reliable construction budgets early in the planning process is critical to the success of the entire project
We evaluate and review the scope/budget options, schedule implications and other related project costs to ensure we achieve an accurate cost analysis and maintain that budget throughout the lifecycle of the project

Safety Control

Every jobsite is unique and poses different hazards, as well as different alternatives to abate or mediate the hazards
L.F. Jennings employs a full time safety director, who visits each job at least weekly, if not more
L.F. Jennings generates a site specific safety plan for each project
The subcontractors on the project use our plan as a guide to build their site specific safety plan that will address the specific hazards anticipated within their scope of work
Each subcontractor will break their work down into specific tasks, identify the hazards associated with those tasks, and what procedures will be necessary to prevent or eliminate those hazards

Construction Quality Control

The Quality Control Manager (Superintendent) evaluates site conditions daily through inspection, addresses deficiencies with the project team and documents these activities
The Superintendent is the primary quality control manager on the project, but quality control is also the responsibility of the PM, Project Executive, the Director of Field Operations and General Superintendent, who will be at the project every week
Meetings between the construction team will take place on a weekly basis to evaluate the progress, review the timeline of schedule, incorporate any site conditions previously not identified
As with everything we do at L.F. Jennings, this is a collaborative approach, where we are all responsible for the product we are providing
Submittal logs will be reviewed to ensure timely approval of submittals and review inventory and supplies
