L.F. Jennings, Inc., Constructing the latest development in western Loudoun County.

At the western reaches of Loudoun County, major retail expansion is underway. Roadside Development, a Washington, D.C. based development company has broken ground on their newest project, Purcellville Gateway, located at the intersection of East Main Street and Berlin Turnpike in Purcellville, VA. L.F. Jennings, Inc. of Falls Church, VA has been selected as the general contractor for the project.

The 16 acre mixed-use project known as Purcellville Gateway will add new retail and grocery options to the town, while paying homage to its' agricultural history. The site of the project rests on the hundred plus year old Cole Farm. The project was designed by Rounds VanDuzer Architects and the engineer is Walter L. Phillips, Inc. Upon completion, the entire project will consist of a 52,000 square foot Harris Teeter grocery store, 30,000 square feet of retail space, 22,000 square feet of office space and 6 single family homes. Additionally, a future Suntrust bank site is located at the north end of the site.

L.F. Jennings, Inc. is constructing the site and infrastructure work along with the Harris Teeter grocery store and 30,000 square feet of retail space, which will host a variety of restaurants and retail options.

An existing silo, barn, and farmhouse on the site have been incorporated into the new design, blending agriculture with retail architecture in an aesthetically pleasing way. Cupola adorned roofs and other replicated features further emphasize the commitment to the region's agricultural history.

The project centers on a large plaza and water feature, which will be used for community events and concerts. The streets and walkways were designed with pedestrians in mind and incorporate extensive hardscape and landscape packages.

The project started in November of 2010 and has an anticipated completion date of June 2012.
