L.F. Jennings Breaks Ground on Carytown Place in Richmond's Museum District

For Immediate Release
1/3/2012

Richmond, VA.-

Residents of the Carytown district in Richmond will be witnessing significant change of a familiar building over the coming months. Developer, Carytown Place Associates LLLP has created its newest project Carytown Place, with the ultimate goal of bringing a unique, mixed-use project to the Museum District community. General Contractor L.F. Jennings of Richmond has been awarded the project based on past successful partnerships.

The design team of MV+ A Architects developed the concept for the new 45,000 square foot building while Richmond based Timmons Group provided the Engineering services.

"The renovation is the adaptive reuse of a 1950's, 2-story office building into a vibrant one story retail center", commented MV+A principal Lila Firouzfar. In an effort to lend itself to a more pedestrian friendly shopping experience, the project features significant interior renovations, including the removal of the second floor allowing for improved ceiling heights and a spacious interior.

The new look will come complete with automatic sliding doors, new glass storefronts and windows and a welcoming interior corridor for shoppers. The exterior of the building will receive new planters, sidewalks and parking lot.
